Terms of Service
Last updated: March 27, 2026
1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using Filesty at filesty.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
2. Description of Service
Filesty provides free online file conversion and processing tools that run entirely within your web browser. Key characteristics:
- Client-side processing: All file operations are performed locally on your device using JavaScript and WebAssembly. Your files are never uploaded to any server.
- No account required: You can use all tools without registration.
- Free of charge: All tools are provided free of charge.
- No output guarantees: File processing is performed on a best-effort basis. Output quality depends on input files, browser capabilities, and the nature of the conversion.
3. Acceptable use
You agree to use Filesty only for lawful purposes. You must not:
- Process, convert, or distribute files containing illegal content (malware, CSAM, content violating intellectual property rights, etc.)
- Use Filesty to facilitate copyright infringement or circumvent DRM protections
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or scrape the service or its source code
- Use automated scripts, bots, or crawlers to bulk-use the service
- Circumvent any security measures or technical restrictions
- Use the service in a way that could damage, overload, or impair its infrastructure
Violation of these terms may result in access being blocked.
4. Intellectual property
4.1 Filesty content
The Filesty name, logo, website design, and software are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce or redistribute them without prior written permission.
4.2 Open-source libraries
Filesty uses open-source libraries (pdf-lib, Bootstrap, etc.) which are licensed under their respective open-source licences (MIT, Apache 2.0, etc.). These licences are available in the respective library repositories.
4.3 Your files
You retain all rights to your files. By using Filesty, you do not grant us any rights to your files or their contents — because they are processed locally and never transmitted to us.
5. No warranties
The service is provided “as is” and “as available” without any warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to:
- Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
- Warranties of uninterrupted or error-free operation
- Warranties regarding the accuracy or reliability of output files
We do not guarantee that:
- The service will always be available or accessible
- Any particular file format, size, or type will be processed correctly
- Results will meet your specific requirements
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Filesty and its operator shall not be liable for:
- Any indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages
- Loss of data, profits, revenue, goodwill, or business opportunities
- Damage to files or data arising from use of the service
- Service interruptions or downtime
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the service shall not exceed €100 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (whichever is higher). Since Filesty is free, this effectively limits liability to €100.
7. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Filesty and its operator from any claims, liabilities, damages, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or your use of the service.
8. Third-party links and services
Filesty may contain links to third-party websites or use third-party libraries (served via CDN). We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of third-party services.
9. Modifications to the service
We reserve the right to:
- Modify, suspend, or discontinue the service (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice
- Add, remove, or change features or tools
- Change these Terms at any time by updating this page
Material changes to these Terms will be indicated by updating the “Last updated” date.
10. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Poland, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Filesty shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Poland. If you are a consumer in the EU, you may also have access to alternative dispute resolution mechanisms under EU consumer protection law.
EU consumers may also use the European Commission’s Online Dispute Resolution platform: ec.europa.eu/odr
11. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
